AddressPlotter

Privacy policy

AddressPlotter is published by Grace NGOMBOASI EI. Contact: [email protected].

Your files

Your file stays in your browser: it is read, checked and drawn on your device, and it is never uploaded. To place an address on the map, only the text of that address (for example "10 Main St, Boston, MA 02134") is sent to our geocoding server, which asks Geoapify and, for British addresses and postcodes, sends the postcode alone to postcodes.io. Our server keeps no address: it stores the coordinates of an address under a one-way code computed from it, so that the same address is not looked up twice, and deletes them after 180 days. The other columns of your file are never sent.

No account, no cookies

AddressPlotter does not require an account, does not set cookies and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking tools.

Audience measurement

We do not measure your visit beyond the technical logs below.

Technical logs

Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes the technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the service, such as IP address and browser type, under its own privacy policy.

Payments

Payments are handled by our reseller Paddle, which acts as merchant of record and processes your billing data under its own privacy policy.

Geocoding providers

The text of each address is sent to Geoapify (Germany) and, for British addresses and postcodes, the postcode alone to postcodes.io; both return coordinates. They process the texts under their own privacy policies.

Purchases

When you buy Pro, our unlock server checks the payment with Paddle and keeps, for the 7 days of the pass: the email address of your receipt (so that you can restore the pass on another browser), the Paddle transaction number and a random identifier of the browser you bought it on. This data is deleted automatically when the pass ends. Invoices are issued and kept by Paddle.

Storage in your browser

To remember your pass on this browser, the tool saves an unlock token and a random identifier of the browser in its local storage (not cookies, and nothing used for tracking). You can clear them at any time in your browser settings; "Restore my purchase" brings the pass back while it lasts. While Pro is open, the token is sent with the addresses to our geocoding server, which counts the lookups of the pass under its transaction number.

Daily limits

To keep the free tool free, each visitor may place up to 500 addresses a day. To count them, our server keeps a one-way code computed from your IP address (never the address itself) and the day's count; both are deleted after the day.
